Anybody who’s ever owned a car of any make or model knows how simple it is to schedule and execute an oil change, even if they’ve never really thought about why these oil and filter changes are so important.

Put simply, a Cadillac oil change helps your luxury vehicle by lubricating engine parts to help it run more efficiently and use gas more efficiently.

Oil Change Service 101

In order to work properly, oil needs to be swapped out every so often to ensure that the product is still healthy enough to do its job. The current standard for Cadillac vehicles is an oil change every 7,500 miles, after which oil can get dark and thick.

However, there are times when drivers don’t use their luxury vehicles often enough to hit 7,500 miles over the course of a year, in which case it’s time for an oil change, anyway.

On the one hand, modern synthetic oils can last much longer than the oil cars used in the 1970s and 1980s, but on the other hand, not using a car very often can still cause oil to go bad via moisture that finds its way into your oil tank through severe temperature changes or high humidity.

Vehicles that are driven often combust that moisture out of there, but a car that sits around can see its oil watered down and lose effectiveness. Not to mention, oil starts to degrade over time and lose viscosity.

For these reasons, we recommend coming in if it's been more than six months since your last oil change.
